Newton’s rings put on a microscopic show.

This is a microscope image, about 20x, of some bright bands of color that appeared on the surface of one of my samples.  They’re formed from a colorless film of residue left behind after some IPA dried on my sample - the colors are caused by the interference of light waves, rather than by dyes.  The dots are all probably caused by dirt - a pretty but sure sign that I needed to do another rinse, and dry it properly this time.
